Hydroponic herbs falling over and have white powder on them?
Hi, I am new to hydroponics, running a three gallon deep water culture system. I use general hydroponics nutrients and their feeding schedule. It stays at about a 6.22 PH and 500ppm. As far as a light goes, right now it is just two fluorescent lights. Right now I am growing spearmint and oregano, but instead of standing up straight they lay down flat (right now the oregano is actually looking pretty good!). Also there is white powder that forms on the top of the rock wool cubes. I change the water and add nutrients once a week. Is there anything else I can do?

When I first planted then, I used quite a few seeds.. maybe too many plants are attempting to grow in the same space?

the white powder is could be natural fungi the plant roots need or calcium from water supply.
the plants look to be light deprived, the elongated growth shows light deprivation be sure to use full spectrum lighting. Full spectrum lighting would increase light amounts the plant needs to photosynthesize..
Its just fungi, its natural.
